Percy was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. Percy was the fourth wide receiver selected in the 2009 draft.
In his rookie season, Percy became one of Quarterback Brett Favre’s favorite targets. Percy is the first Viking ever to score a touchdown in each of his first three games. Percy was selected as the NFL’s Rookie of the Week in Week 7 and in Week 8 of the 2009 season, and is on his way to becoming one of the NFL’s future stars.
Percy played college football at the University of Florida and helped the Gators win two National Championships. In three seasons at the University of Florida, Percy made 133 catches for 1,929 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed the ball 194 times for 1,852 yards and 19 touchdowns. Percy’s 32 career touchdowns is the most ever by a University of Florida wide receiver. Percy averaged an astounding 9.5 yards per carry as a running back and averaged 11.6 yards overall (running back, receiver, return man).
