Willie J. Green plays Shooting Guard for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Willie played college basketball at the University of Detroit Mercy. He is a Detroit, Michigan native and a proud citizen of Motown.

Wille was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in the second round (41st overall) of the 2003 NBA Draft, and then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for the draft rights to Paccelis Morlende and cash consideration.

Willie has played his entire NBA career for the Philadelphia 76ers.

In 2006, Willie established The Willie Green Foundation (WGF) which is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and strengthening the academic, athletic, cultural, social, and career interests of youth (and their families) from communities challenged by violence, economic underdevelopment, and chronic unemployment. Currently, WGF is focused on the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Detroit, Michigan metropolitan areas but hopes to help in other areas as more resources become available.

Willie has also partnered with the Philadelphia Chapter of the Red Cross to help raise funds and awareness during the 2009-2010 NBA season.
