Jay Feely is a record-setting Placekicker for the New York Jets.

After a four-year letterman college football career at the University of Michigan, Jay started his professional career inauspiciously with the Florida Bobcats of the Arena Football League after going undrafted in the 1999 NFL Draft.

After his first NFL season with the Falcons in 2001, Feely was recognized as a consensus all-rookie selection. Jay converted 29 of 37 field goal attempts (78.4%) and all 28 extra point attempts. He also converted 14 of 15 field goals away from the Georgia Dome. His 115 points tied him with the Eagles' David Akers for second in the NFC behind only Rams kicker Jeff Wilkins. On September 30, 2001, Jay converted a 55-yard attempt against the Arizona Cardinals.

In his second season with Falcons, Jay converted 32 of 40 field goal attempts (80 percent) and all but one of 43 extra point attempts. His 32 field goals broke Morten Andersen's previous franchise record of 31 set in 1995, and tied Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Martín Gramática for most in the NFL. Jay earned NFL Special Teams Player of the Week honors after converting three field goals of more than 40 yards against the Carolina Panthers on October 20, 2002, and eventually earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors for converting 9 of 10 field goals and all nine PATs.

After signing with the New York Giants as an unrestricted free agent in 2005, Jay set the New York Giants’ franchise record for best Field Goal percentage over two seasons with a 83% season followed by a 85% season. Jay was a Pro Bowl alternate in 2005.

After signing with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent in the 2007, Jay had the most productive season of his career and in Miami Dolphins franchise history. He missed just two of his 23 field goal attempts, and set a new franchise record of 91.3% field goal percentage.

Jay signed with the New York Jets on September 8, 2008. On November 13, 2008, Jay kicked the game-winning 34-yard field goal in overtime against the New England Patriots that enabled the Jets to take sole possession of first place in the AFC East for the first time since Nov. 19, 2001. In 10 games in 2008, Jay made 16 of his 20 field goal attempts (80.0%), with an average of 35.1 yards and a long of 55 yards and converted all 23 PATs for a total of 71 points.

In Week Six of the 2009 season against the Buffalo Bills, Jay set a new record of 24 consecutive field goals by breaking Pat Leahy's record of 23 consecutive field goals.
