Jordan played college basketball for UCLA and was considered one of the elite collegiate point guards in the country. Jordan was named to the all Pac-10 and all Pac-10 Tournament teams, and led the UCLA Bruins to the National Championship game against the Florida Gators in the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
Jordan declared for the NBA Draft on April 20, 2006, and was selected by the Lakers with the 26th overall pick of the 2006 NBA Draft. During his rookie season, Jordan earned significant playing time and established himself as a reliable and productive player in the NBA, despite Coach Phil Jackson's well-known reluctance to play rookies. ?
Jordan's role with the Lakers increased each season, and he was a vital part of the their run to the NBA Finals in 2008. During his time with the Lakers Jordan won two championship rings.
On July 11, 2010, Jordan signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the New Jersey Nets.
When he’s not playing hoops, Jordan finds the time to engage in philanthropy. In 2009 Jordan hosted the first annual Jordan Farmar Celebrity Golf Classic from which proceeds went to benefiting the Jordan Farmar Foundation, his charity that is dedicated to helping at-risk children undergoing cancer treatment,
